Biographical Information

Mark E. Libertone was born in Syracuse, NY and grew up in Solvay, NY a Syracuse suburb. Mark started drawing and painting at about the age of 13 and by age 14 was already attempting to paint in watercolor. Mark majored in art through high school and went on to college to study art, painting and art education.  Mark has a B.F.A in Art and a M.S. in Art Education (Synaesthetic Education.) both from Syracuse University. Mark move to Wellsville to teach high school art, and later moved into the commercial market as a freelance artist.

Mark’s art consists, mostly, of watercolors, but Mark has created art in all major painting media including egg tempera, oil, acrylic, encaustic, gouache and cold wax.  In addition he has worked in other media as well including pen and ink and colored and regular pencil. Today, Mark also works creating graphic art on the computer.
